My name is Mario Cardinal and I am a senior consultant specialized in software architecture with agile processes and Microsoft Visual Studio Team System. I am a member of .NET Expertise, a network of independent expert consultants specializing in Microsoft .NET technologies. I possess almost twenty years of experience in designing large-scale information systems.

I lead the architecture interest group at the Montreal Visual Studio User Group and I am the architecture track tech chair for DevTeach Conference. I am a member of the Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Customer Advisory Council as well as the International Association of Software Architects (IASA). Furthermore, since 2004, I host the Visual Studio Talk Show, a podcast about software development with Microsoft .NET. Finally, for the third year in a row, I have received from Microsoft the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award in the competency of Software Architect. MVP status is awarded to credible technology experts who are among the very best community members willing to share their experience to helping others realize their potential.

On this site you will find information with regard to my consulting services. As a consultant, I spend most of my time training and mentoring companies to build well-designed enterprise Microsoft .NET applications. I design architecture, model technical solutions, review or make proposals, put together plans and strategies, conduct audits, review designs, manage requirements or implement software development process.

Furthermore, this site describes my expertise and provides information about my competencies which are based on solid training. I hold Bachelor of Computer Engineering and Master of Technology Management degrees from the École Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada. I also hold the titles of Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Microsoft Technology Specialist (Team Foundation Server) and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD). My work experience and university training have allowed me to develop a solid entrepreneurial vision, management capabilities, an excellent ability to synthesize, solid communication skills, and an aptitude for directing software development team
