My name is Mario Cardinal and I am an independent consultant, specialized in software architecture, who possess over twenty years of experience in designing large-scale information systems.

I am the training designer for the Team Foundation Tour. This training has been conceived to give you a head start in adopting agile practices with Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2010. Whether you are a manager, business analyst, developer, tester, or architect, you will learn how to effectively use Scrum with Team Foundation Server (TFS).

I love to extract the essence of a complicated situation, sort out the core ideas from the incidental distractions, and provide a summary easy to understand. Since 2004, I host the Visual Studio Talk Show, a podcast about software architecture with Microsoft .NET. For the seventh year in a row, I have received from Microsoft the Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. MVP status is awarded to credible technology experts who are among the very best community members willing to share their experience to helping others realize their potential. In this regard, I lead the architecture user group at the Montreal .Net Community and I am the architecture track tech chair for DevTeach Conference. Finally, I speak regularly at conferences both international and local.

I hold Bachelor of Computer Engineering and Master of Technology Management degrees from the École Polytechnique in Montreal, Canada. I also hold the titles of Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Microsoft Technology Specialist (Team Foundation Server) and Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD). My work experience and university training have allowed me to develop a solid entrepreneurial vision, management capabilities, an excellent ability to synthesize, solid communication skills, and an aptitude to actualize the potential of software development team.
